IPL 2025 has been off to a not-so-great start from the perspective of the broadcasters. With Jio and Hotstar coming together in their new acquisition to become JioHotstar, the IPL matches can be streamed online on their app. However, things have not been so smooth from their behalf in the first match and there was a big glitch in the broadcasting graphics in the first over of the match itself.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first. He sent in fast bowler Josh Hazlewood to bowl the first over. However, on the screens, fan could see the name Virat Kohli on the graphic as the bowler. And that stayed for quite some time, even after Josh Hazlewood had started bowling. A few fans pointed that out on X and it was quite stunning because it’s quite a big error.

Talking about the match itself, despite losing quite a few wickets, KKR were able to maintain the run rate and they have scored 174 runs in 20 overs at an expense of 6 wickets. After losing Quinton De Kock cheaply, Sunil Narine and captain Ajinkya Rahane’s partnership went a long way in helping their team maintain the run rate.
However, up until the 15th over, they were scoring runs at 10 runs per over and after that, they lost wickets in quick succession and they could only score 174 runs by the end.
