Stuart Broad was tagged as a cheater of this game when he refused to walk. In the 1st Test of 2013 Ashes at Trent Bridge , Stuart Broad edged a ball to the slip of Ashton Agar and still he was standing at the crease like nothing happened.
The Umpire Aleem Dar said Not Out and Broad stood up on his ground , and Play On ! Amazing scene it was. These are the moments when the spirit of Cricket gets killed.
That edge of Stuart Broad was visible from the TV screens too clearly but how come Stuart Broad didn’t walk ? That was something Bizarre stuff from Broad.
This gave rise to a huge controversy and many former great cricketers commented on his gesture. Even the former English captain Michael Vaughn commented on him , saying , ” Stuart Broad will be remembered as a cheater “.
Former English spinner Graeme Swann said , ” We live in an age where Cheating is accepted in Test Cricket.”
