It is not unknown that despite all the success Rohit Sharma has had in the recent past as the captain of Team India, especially in the T20I format, not every Indian fan wants him to continue playing for the side and many want him to retire. The Hitman has applied kind of a ‘selfless’ way of playing nowadays, where he starts the innings for India with an aggressive approach and does not care about individual runs. Thus, he is not quite able to gather up the huge chunk of runs that he once used to do which is the source of all these opinions.
However, Rohit Sharma made it clear after the Champions Trophy 2025 final that he doesn’t really care about these trolls at all and prefers to make his own decisions. In a video, he can be seen saying, “Bhai hum koi retire nahi honey hai bhench*d, mkc inko to lag rha hai” to Virat Kohli alongside the former Indian captain and they can both be seen laughing about it. Until a few days ago, when Virat Kohli was also unable to score many runs, the netizens were even asking him to retire.
