There are two facts about Suresh Raina that have never been in doubt. One is he is one of the elegant batsmen who is known for his typical stroke-making abilities and the other is he is one of the classical fielders in cricket. Having a player like Raina in the team, can give you a blend of substance and style as well.

Suresh Raina’s fielding skills are widely known. The fact that he is committed on the field with grit and determination makes him a valuable asset. What a fielder he has been for India and there is a lot to say about his acrobatic efforts that he manifests it on the blade of grass which makes the onlookers go awe at it. Suresh Raina pulls of a blinder to dismiss Gunathilaka:

During the 4th T20I between Sri Lanka and India of Nidahas Trophy, India gave it back in style to Sri Lanka by a 6-wicket win. India also top the table with 2 wins to their account. Suresh Raina stole the spotlight when he took an absolute peach of a catch to dismiss Danushka Gunathilaka at the best scene.

Shardul Thakur who got into the groove of his bowling rhythm bowled a bit short to the left-handed Gunathilaka. The latter who was looking good tried to loft one to the short cover region where Raina was standing. The brilliant fielder had all eyes on the ball and took a fantastic catch to dismiss the batsman.

Fielding is not that easy as we think as it needs the complete presence of mind to focus on the live scene and regardless of any crunch situation, one needs to be ready for anything. Every team needs a fielder like Suresh Raina who is spot on the turf in terms of catching, effecting run-outs or saving quite a few leaks.

India will play Bangladesh in their next match at the same R Premadesa Stadium on March 14, Wednesday. Bangladesh who lost to India in their opening encounter will look to give some tough times to the table-toppers.
